It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Janine Carol Hennessy, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Janine passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.
Janine was preceded in death by her mother, Claudia Hennessy, and two sisters, Eva (Lori) Hennessy and Terri Yount (Eddie). She is survived by her children, Bridgette Hennessy, Fredrick Wooten III, and Colleen Wooten (Ryan); two cherished grandchildren, Benjamin and Oscar; her father, Joseph Hennessy, her sister Kim Hatchell (Steve) and her brothers, Daniel Hennessy (Renee) and Kevin Hennessy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of dear friends who loved her dearly.

Janine attended Holy Family School and Westport High School. She spent her career helping others in the insurance and subrogation field. Known for her beauty, wit, and outgoing spirit, she made lasting impressions on everyone she met. Above all, Janine was dedicated to her children and grandchildren, with her grandchildren being the light of her life.

A talented cook, Janine loved to entertain and bring joy to others through her creative, crafty nature. She had a unique ability to remember the important details—birthdays, anniversaries, and special moments—and was always ready with a funny story, kind word or thoughtful gesture. Her warmth and generosity of spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Janine will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A visitation will be held at Fern Creek Funeral Home on February 8, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. A memorial service will follow at 4:00pm, where we will celebrate her life and the joy she brought to so many.
