Walter Hughes' Obituary
Walter O. Hughes, Jr., 81, died Monday, September 7, 2026.
He was born June 27, 1945, son of Walter, Sr. and Laura Fanelli Hughes. Walter was an operating engineer for Local 181, a graduate of Fern Creek High School and a member of Fern Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his fist wife, Deanna Finch Hughes; and grandson, Josh Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Lisa Young and Michael (Jennifer), Christopher, and Steven (Robin) Hughes; stepdaughter, Jessica Gall; grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
Visitation is 12-4pm Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY and 12-1pm Monday, September 14, 2026 at Fern Creek Baptist Church, 5920 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY. Funeral service follows at 1pm at the church.
