Valerie Virginia Johnson, 60, had her Homecoming on Thursday, January 2, 2025,

Valerie was born in Portland, Oregon on August, 17, 1964 to Lloyd E. and Gertie V. (Roddy) Johnson. She was a devoted sister to her siblings. The youngest of 7. Always checking in on them! Making sure that they were all okay. She was a very good mother to 4 kids. 2 sons and 2 daughters. She always did what was best for them! Even in life's most difficult time. She was a beloved grandma of 3. Her 2 beautiful great grand kids. Valerie had a 25 plus year relationship with Shawn Fitzmayer. Valerie & Shawn lived all over the USA. Involved with churches and missionary work along the way. Valerie had a true heart of gold!  In recent years, she lived in Louisville, Kentucky.

Always seeking to grow more in her understanding and love of God and His Word, she became a faithful member of the Eastland church of Christ.  She was ever thankful for God's amazing grace in her life, often sharing with others how she felt "fabulously blessed and highly favored by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!"  Her positive, caring and giving disposition will be often remembered and greatly missed.

She is survived by her two sons, Shane and Clifton Johnson; three grandchildren, Shane Jr, Aliana, and Zayvion; two great-grandchildren, Ezekiel and Eielana; and her long-time companion, Shawn Fitzmayer.

A memorial homecoming service in honor of Valerie will be held at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, at 11am Saturday, January 11, 2025.  Friends may begin arriving at 10am.
