Obituary

Travis Aaron Crump, 44, passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2022 in Louisville, Kentucky.  Travis was born to Donald & Rose Crump on April 29, 1978.  He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Faith Hawkins Crump, and leaves two children, Elise and Langdon.  Travis also leaves his grandmother, Berniece Downs, his in-laws Perry & Debra Hawkins, and sister-in-law Hope Hawkins (Nick) and only nephew, Brenin. He also leaves friend Ben Guerrant, the Goose to his Maverick, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family.

Travis was a tri-valedictorian at Bullitt East High School, where he played basketball and baseball.  Travis and Faith met while attending Transylvania University, where he obtained a degree in Psychology.  He was president and an active member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity and played baseball at Transy.   Travis went on to receive his Juris Doctor at Vanderbilt Law School.  He made friends wherever he went, and leaves behind many fraternity brothers and other friends to cherish his memory.

After law school, Travis and Faith moved to Greensboro, North Carolina, where he practiced law and fostered a wonderful group of friends. Travis and Faith returned to Louisville after the birth of Elise, where his focus shifted to his family. He started coaching at Lyndon Recreation when Elise started tee-ball, and found a love of coaching.  If he wasn't coaching softball, he was cheering on both Elise and Langdon at their school events at St. Margaret Mary School.  Travis was an avid UK Wildcats fan.  When he had downtime, he loved to play video games with Langdon.  He also loved lake life, and when not at a sporting event, he was wakeboarding or driving so his children could be behind the boat.

Travis always had a movie quote or a music lyric for every situation and curated a list of 'Crumpisms' that we will all miss.  His unexpected love of the family's pet rabbits was a source of many jokes and they will miss his pets and treats.  While he left us too soon, he impacted so many in his 44 years on this Earth and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation is at Fern Creek Funeral Home from 3-8 pm on Monday, August 1st.  Funeral will be at 10 am on Tuesday, August 2, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
