She was born Zdzislawa Teresa Zdobylak on August 3, 1940, in Lwów, Poland, the daughter of Jan and Stanislawy Herman Zdobylak. A devoted Catholic, Teresa took great pride in caring for her home and family. She also worked as a jewelry consultant at several retail establishments, where she enjoyed helping others find pieces to celebrate life's special moments.

In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Coleman III; her son, Thomas B. Coleman IV; her sister, Helena Hughes; her brother, Theodore H. Zdobylak; and her daughter-in-law, Chrissy Coleman.

She is survived by her sons, Brian (Paula) and Victor Coleman; her grandchildren, Samantha Johnson (Paul), Greg (Rachel), Bentley, Camry, Catera, Sara, Solara, Sienna Critchelow (Mason), Autumn, and David Coleman; her great-grandchildren, Ava Johnson, Lyla, Avery and Tyler Coleman, Waylon and Winston Critchelow, and another expected soon; and her sisters, Zita Coffey and Roma Badgett.
