Susan Michelle Davenport, 63, died suddenly Thursday, May 21, 2026.

She was born March 19, 1963 in Bardstown, Kentucky, daughter of William B. and Mary Ann Mulligan Davenport.

Susan was a 1982 graduate of Fern Creek High School and earned a BA in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University. She was a retired case worker for the State of Kentucky, helping to shape the lives of many young people over her thirty plus year career. She worked many jobs after her retirement and most recently worked as a leasing agent for Mid America Apartments.

Her nieces and nephews were like children to her and “Aunt Susie” was a big part of all their lives. Susan’s love for animals was unsurpassed. Also, her love for the Kentucky Wildcats and Tennessee Lady Vols must be mentioned. Susie’s generosity for helping others and stepping up whenever needed was a part of her fiber. She touched many lives and anyone who met her knew this.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Cathy Davenport.

Survivors include her siblings, Bill Davenport, Ann Davenport Ketelhut (Ron) and Ally Brooks (Mike); nieces and nephews, Chris Davenport (Amanda), Haley Dahl (Adam), Ron Ketelhut II, David Ketelhut, Zach Brooks, Adam Brooks, Gracie Brooks and Addy Brooks; and a cousin of whom she was very fond, Mark Davenport (Kim)

Her funeral is 4pm Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road. Visitation is after 12pm until the time of the service. Burial will be at a later date in Bardstown Cemetery.
