Steven Denny
Gay
November 15, 1955 – September 16, 2025
Steven (Steve) Denny Gay lived a beautiful life. Steve was born November 15,1955 to loving parents, Ruddy & Emma Gay. He grew up and lived the majority of his life in Lawrenceburg, KY before moving to Louisville in 2018.
He was a hard working man, dedicated to his family, everything he did was for them. He played many roles over the course of his life: general contractor, dairyman, husband, father, and friend among others. He was a magnetic force, people gravitated towards him, and he accepted and loved them all. He was compassionate, loving, caring, attentive, and hilarious. If you were around Steve, you were guaranteed to feel welcome.
Steve loved spending time with his family, friends, and animals. An avid horse enthusiast he picked up the hobby when his late wife took him to a show and has been involved ever since. He enjoyed pool, classic rock, and working around the farm.
Steve is preceded in death by his loving parents, Ruddy and Emma Gay; his brother, Mike Gay; and his wife, Joetta Gay. He is survived by his son, Keegan Gay; partner, Jill Robinson; and his sisters, Connie Franklin and Darlene Gay. He is also survived by numerous cousins, and all his loving nieces and nephews.
We will miss you, immensely. You were the "go-to" when life got rough, you were sanity in this crazy world, and a comfort when we needed clarity. You were always someone to count on, always got your point across without judgement, and always provided sound advice. You always gave it 110% and never stopped fighting for what's right. Everyone who knew you is a bit better for having met you.
A celebration of life will be held for Steve at 2pm on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Wildwood Country Club, 5000 Bardstown Rd.
