Shirley Buckley Sallee, 87 passed away on December 26, 2023. She was born on June 7, 1937, in Garrett County. Shirley was a loving mother, wife, sister, and friend. She was a member of Fern Creek Baptist Church. She had a caring personality and always brought joy to everyone around her. Shirley was a decorated seamstress with a passion for sewing and a love for creative art paintings. Her secret hobby was horse racing, and quick to state, "I had that horse" Shirley never lost a race. She touched the lives of numerous people, and her absence will be extremely felt.

Shirley dedicated more than 30 years of her life as a professional interior designer specializing in custom blinds, drapes, and cornice boards. She had a magnificent love of people and her devotion to their well-being was unwavering.

She is survived by her husband, Jim of 66 years; son, Mike, his wife Stephanie; daughter, Teresa McCombs, her husband Joe; and grandson Blake. Siblings, Albert Buckley Jr, Judy Yunt, and David Buckley. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Albert; mother, Amanda; and siblings, Helen, Janice, Bobby, and Joe.

A celebration of Shirley's life will include visitation at Fern Creek Funeral Home 5406 Bardstown Road Louisville, KY 40291 on Friday, December 29 from 3 to 7 pm. Her funeral service is at Fern Creek Baptist Church 5920 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40291 on Saturday, December 30 at 12 pm. Additional visitation begins at 11 am the day of the service at the church

Shirley Buckley Sallee will be genuinely missed by those with the honor of knowing her. Her love and compelling spirit will forever be cherished by family and friends. May she rest in peace.
