Sarah Frances Benkert, 87, died Monday, April 4, 2022.

She was born in Somerset, KY, daughter of James Paul and Cloa Mae New Silvers.  Sarah was a devoted homemaker and retired assistant manager of the old Behr's Clothing Store.  She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and St. Ann's Confraternity.

Preceding her in death was her husband, the love of her life, John E. Benkert.

She is survived by her children, Paula Benkert and Jim Benkert (Susie); and dear friends, Barbara Dietsch, Diana Steier and Clara Geary.

Funeral mass is 10:30am Thursday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Road with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation is 3-7pm Wednesday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.

Her family expresses thanks for the care given by her physician, Dr. Brandon Kellie.
