Ruth Brockman, 100, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Ruth was the first child born to her parents on January 9, 1922 in Finley, which is in Marion County.  Ruth married Cliff Brockman on September 7, 1939 at the age of 17.  She was a homemaker and a retired employee of General Electric and attended Seaton Park Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ermie & Alfred Benningfield; husband, Clifton Brockman; sons, Baute & Leon Brockman; son in law, David Hayden; sisters, Mary Ellen Smith, Annie Benningfield, Betty Vincent, Dorothy Brown, Charlotte Brashear; and brothers, Albert & Walter Benningfield.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Karen Hayden, Joyce Dillard (Larry), son Timothy Brockman; sister, Helen Drury;. grandchildren, Denise (Beau) Alstatt, Kristen Parr, Heather and Tommy Wright; great grandchildren, Brittany Brockman McFarland (Jacob Howard), Allison and Kelsey Wright, Katelyn and Carissa Parr, Cassie, Brock (Lydia) and Abbie Alstatt; great-great grandchildren James, Matthew and Eli McFarland, Lucas Howard, and Wesley Schult; several nieces and nephews; 3 loving caregivers; and her church family at Seaton Park Baptist.

Ruth's memorial service is 2pm Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with inurnment in Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation is after 12pm that afternoon until the time of the service.
