Ruby Hawes, 82, died Saturday, August 9, 2025.

She was born Ruby Alene Vittitoe on April 25, 1943 in Boston, Kentucky, daughter of Albert and Lillian Cundiff Vittitoe.

Ruby was a retired beautician and owner of the old Ruby's Beauty Shop.  She was a member of Fern Creek Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Hawes; daughter, Deborah Richardson; and granddaughter, Rebecca Richardson.

Survivors include her son, Eddie Arnold Hawes (Linda); granddaughter, Jessica Beard (Danny); two great grandchildren; and siblings, Earl Vittitoe, Junior Vittitoe, George Vittitoe,Tommy Vittitoe and Rita Vittitoe.

Her funeral is 5pm Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.  Visitation is after 11am until the time of the service.  Burial is private.
