Ronald L. Vaughn, 84, died Thursday, May 9, 2024.

Ronnie was born March 26, 1940, son of Preston and Evelyn Hornung Vaughn.  He was a farmer and former foreman at International Harvester Company.  As a life-long member of Beulah Presbyterian Church, Ronnie served as Deacon, Elder, and Sunday School Teacher.  He was a 1958 graduate of Fern Creek High School and was active in the Fern Creek High School Alumni Association.  He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1962 with a degree in agronomy and has remained an engaged fan of the UK Athletic Program, especially basketball and football.

As a community servant, Ronnie was a former member of the KY Army National Guard and the old Fern Creek Lions Club, a supporter of Fern Creek/Highview United Ministries and was appointed a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Yancy Vaughn; sons, Kyle Vaughn (Kate) and Colin Vaughn; grandchildren, Preston, Marguerite, and Charles Vaughn; and brother, Richard Vaughn (Sue).

A memorial service honoring Ronnie is 11am Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Beulah Presbyterian Church, 6701 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.  Memorial visitation is 3-7pm Friday, May 17, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.
