Robert Lee Montgomery, 79, died August 20, 2026.

He was born April 11, 1947, son of Newman and Anna Sutherland Montgomery. Robert was a truck driver, United States Marine and veteran of the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Montgomery, Jr.; and grandson, Daren Perry.

Survivors include his daughter, Tonya Montgomery Perry (Darrel); grandchildren, Austin Montgomery, Darrel Perry, Jr., Dylan West, Talia Perry; and great grandchildren, Bryson Montgomery, Brenden Montgomery, Bradley Montgomery, Chance West and Millie West.

Visitation is 12-6pm Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40291. Military honors at 6pm will conclude the visitation.
