Robert A.
Karolyi, Jr.
March 24, 2024
Robert Alexander Karolyi, Jr. age 92, passed from this life to be with his Lord Jesus Christ, March 24, 2024.
Bob grew up in Painesville, Ohio, the son of Alex Emil and Opal Florence (Campbell) Karolyi. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was led to the Lord by an American missionary in Japan on January 15, 1953, during a G.I. Gospel Hour service. Bob was later baptized in a mountain stream in Japan.
Feeling God's call to ministry, Bob furthered his education, earning several degrees including a Doctor of Ministry. Bob was a gifted Bible teacher, faithfully serving in various churches in Ohio and Kentucky as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Minister of Education. Bob was dedicated to helping others more fully understand the Bible. Over the last 60 years, he taught many children's, youth, and adult Bible studies, often in his own home. He was also a soul winner and led many to faith in Jesus.
Bob had the ability to help a person feel valued and loved. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a humble, gentle encourager and an endearing storyteller.
Bob is survived and dearly missed by his loving wife of 69 years, Wanda; his daughters, Kim Tackett (Chuck) and Jennifer Rogers (John); six grandchildren, Audrey Gnizak (Ryan), Michael (Fairynne), Josiah, Carly, Amy, and Rachel, four great grandchildren; his sisters Janet Vandenberg and Joanne Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob's family is comforted by knowing that he is in the Lord's glorious presence, joyful and free from pain. We await the day when we will all meet again.
Burial with military honors is 1:30pm Friday, April 5, 2024 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY. Attendees meet in front of the administration building.
