Mary Rita Simpson, 80, died Saturday, October 8, 2022.

She was born June 10, 1942 in Marion County, daughter of Joseph Oscar "Buck" and Lucy McNear Simpson.  Rita was a retired Director of Dietary Management and worked in several hospitals and nursing homes.  She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by siblings, Larry and James "Boots" Simpson, Catherine Hamilton, Wanda Adams and Pauline Richerson.

She is survived by her daughter, Sondra Marie Harp (Wes); grandson, Cory Harp; and sisters, Dorothy Cambron and Patricia Hiltman.

Funeral mass is 11am Thursday, October 13, 2022 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2440 Buechel Bank Road with burial in Jeffersontown Cemetery.  Visitation is 4-8pm Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road and after 10am Thursday at the church until the time of the mass.
