Cyril "Rick" Schmitt passed away at home Friday, 8/23/24, after a lengthy battle with kidney failure and bladder cancer.  After graduating St. Xavier, Rick attended the University of Kentucky where he played football with the Wildcats for one season.  He was a Supervisor with Abel Construction before his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Paula Burns Schmitt, his sons Tim (Melissa) and Josh, stepdaughter Erin (Sarah), grandchildren Coty & Andrew (Nick), great grandchildren Lily, Zoey & River. He is survived by siblings Jim (Lesley), Roger (Debbie) and Carolyn Seiffertt (Gordon). He is also survived by former wife Robin Schmitt and sister-in-law Amy Priep. Special thanks to Sam Jones for always being there!
