Retta Davenport, 101, died Thursday, August 8, 2024.

She was born Retta Katherine Neal on April 29, 1923 in Irvine, KY, daughter of Ben and Ollie Price Scribner Neal.  Retta was a member of Fisherville Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Retta was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence E. Davenport, Sr.; second husband, J.C. Waldridge; daughter, Betty Masterson; and several siblings.

She is survived by her son, Lawrence E. Davenport, Jr.; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and sister, Agnes Smith.

Her funeral is 2pm Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY with burial in Chenoweth Run Cemetery.  Visitation is after 10am until the time of the service.
