Ralph L. Foley, Jr., 80, of Louisville, KY died Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

Ralph is now joyously reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Theresa Ann (Bailey), who preceded him in death in 2007. He is survived by his sons, Rick (Jennifer), Tim (Sandra), and Kevin (Jennifer) Foley. He is also survived by his dear sister Geraline Fusting and the six grandchildren he cherished so much, Megan, Morgan, Matthew, Alex, Katelyn, and Derek.

During his full and active life, Ralph enjoyed carpentry, sports, and time with family. He worked for many years at Midwest Paper, then retired from Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital after a long career as a maintenance engineer. In his spare time, Ralph started side businesses including cleaning and striping parking lots and lawn care. Ralph also gave freely of his time and talents, serving as athletic director and coaching youth sports for Sts. Simon & Jude, and helping friends and neighbors as a general handyman. He loved working with his hands, and liked to develop his own creative solutions to meet everyday needs, such as developing his own photographs and expanding his home by digging a basement with buckets and shovels. Never one to be still, Ralph spent his retirement years tinkering in his workshop, fishing, browsing auctions and flea markets, and spoiling his grandchildren. Ralph never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road. Funeral mass is 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Road. Ralph will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery next to his wife of 50 years, Theresa Ann Foley, the love of his life.
