Phyllis S. Maddix, 75, died Friday, May 8, 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was born Phyllis Fay Speck on April 19, 1951, daughter of Horace and Iris Wise Speck.

Phyllis was a 1969 graduate of Fern Creek High School and a member of Church of the Crossroads in Mt. Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Maddix; father, Horace Speck; and brother, Mike Speck.

Survivors include her children, Michael Maddix (Becky) and Michelle Simpson (Rodney); mother, Iris Speck Arnold; sister, Sharon McCay; and grandchildren, Emily, Melody and Samantha Maddix and Olivia Simpson.

Her funeral is 2pm Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation is after 12pm until the time of the service.
