Pete Mersmann, 55, died Thursday, October 23, 2025.

He was born Peter Jerome Mersmann on July 21, 1970 in Louisville, Kentucky, son of Frank and Rita Altmiller Mersmann.

Pete was a graduate of Trinity High School and worked for Whatever It Takes Transmission Parts.  He was a true "kid at heart".  Pete enjoyed life, particularly time spent fishing with his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Rita Haselhorst.

Survivors include his siblings, Stephen Mersmann, Patrick Mersmann (Denise), Martina Goldman (Robert) and Esther Paul (Mike Taylor); nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, John Haselhorst; and devoted, caregiving friends, Josh & Jackie Rains and Jamie & Josh Greer.

Funeral mass is 10am Friday, October 31, 2025 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky  Visitation is 3-7pm Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky.
