Patricia Carol Puckett (Kelley), 87, peacefully passed away under the care of Hospice on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

She was born August 1, 1938 in Irvine, Kentucky, daughter of Finney and Willie Jo Howell Kelley.

Particia spent many years at home raising her children and providing a warm and safe home for her family. She provided comfort, guidance and support or just an ear for listening and extended her home and love to others closest to our family.

She enjoyed time with friends and hosting the occasional card game and never passed a yard sale without a quick once over.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James ‘Jim” Puckett; son, David Brent Puckett; and sister, Donna G Rucker.

She is survived by her children, Melanie Ann Short, Stephanie Lynn Frederick and James Micah Puckett (Kimberly); sister Doris Ann Smith and brother, Jerry Ray Kelley. Her grandchildren: David Brent, Jessica, Melissa, Tyler (Ashton), Courtney (Emily), Zachary (Nicole) and her great grandchildren: David Brent Jr, Landon, Dillion, Cosmo and Phoebe

She also had a special place in her heart for Preston.

A celebration of her life will be held 11am-3pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky.

Though we currently have heavy hearts, Patricia’s memory will be met with smiles and love by all who were lucky enough to have her in their lives.
