Patricia Jean Hayes (née Cole)

January 15, 1945 – June 12, 2025

Patricia Jean Hayes, 80, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Pat was a proud graduate of Northridge High School and Morehead State University. After moving to Bullitt County in 1977, she began her teaching career at Cedar Grove Elementary, where she taught first and fifth grades for many years. She was named Bullitt County Teacher of the Year and was deeply loved by her students and coworkers. Pat was especially proud to be invited to high school graduations by former first-grade students.

Pat is survived by her son, Roger Hayes Jr. (Amanda); granddaughters, Alle and Jenna; step-grandchildren, Ethan and Rylee; sisters, Nita and Linda; brother, Larry; and many loving extended family members and friends. She shared 28 years of marriage with Roger Hayes Sr., the father of her son.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lyda Cole, and her older brother, Jack Cole Jr.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal funeral or visitation will be held.
