Pamela Kay Thompson 70, of Louisville KY, died 12/20/2023 while under the care of Hosparus of Louisville.

Pamela was the daughter of Emma Jean (nee Whitmer) and Ova Thompson, both deceased.

A graduate of Durrett High School (Class of 1971) and University of Louisville went on to teach at Durrett High School and Thomas Jefferson Middle School until her retirement.

Pam retired from JCPS to become a full time mom to her one true love, her daughter Savannah.  Even through retirement, Pam continued to teach as a highly sought-after long term substitute teacher.

Pamela was a member of the Heartsong Congregation (formerly known as Hillview Cumberland Presbyterian Church).  Pam was a faithful teacher in the Sunday School department  and served on many administrative boards of the church…Always a leader.

Pamela is survived by her daughter, Savannah, her cousins Cleetis Nofsinger (Marjorie) of Richmond KY and his family, Janet Beatty (Harold,  deceased) of Chesterfield MO and her family, Diane (Jack) Mull of Louisville and her family, and a host of friends and colleagues from her life as an educator.

Cremation has been chosen.  A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 under the direction of Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Rd. Louisville KY 40291.  Visitation will be from 11:00am until 2:00pm with the service beginning at 2:00 pm.
