Monroe Rice, 83, died Friday, January 28, 2022.

He was a native of Hyden, Kentucky and an Army Veteran.

Monroe was a retired security investigator for Jefferson County Public Schools and known Bluegrass music promoter.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Jerry and Larry Rice.

He is survived by his granddaughters, Tracy Haydon, Kattie Rice and Madison Rice; four great grandchildren; and siblings.

Visitation is 2-6pm Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.  Burial is private.  Masks are required.
