Michael Wayne Fortner, 52, died Friday, June 9, 2023.

He was born April 15, 1971, youngest child of James and Juanita Stevens Fortner.  Michael was a graduate of Central High School.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, listening to music and watching a good wrestling match on television.  Earlier in life, he regularly took his sons to Kentucky Kingdom and was happy driving his Cutlass, always in his favorite necklaces and with a hairbrush nearby.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in life by his siblings, Abigail Bryan, Judy Tripp, Connie VonAlmon, Jackie Ash and Ricky Fortner.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Becky Ellis Fortner; sons, Christian Fortner (Heather) and Devin Fortner (Jospeh Langevin); grandchildren, Bella, Jace, Kannon and Karma; brother, Jimmy Fortner (Connie); sister, Doris Broughton; nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 3-7pm Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.
