Melvina Russ, 87, died Friday, May 2, 2025.  She was born to the late Charles and Virginia Vanderver Hutchinson on September 10, 1937.

Melvina worked as a private care nurse, and was a graduate of Valley High School and Gulf Coast Community School. Melvina was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had been cared for at the Masonic Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Barkley Russ and her brother, Douglas DuCoff.

Survivors include her son, Allen Russ (Paula), grandchildren, Josh Russ, Lauren Sauty de Chalon (Georges), Kendall Brooks (Regen), and Nick Russ; great grandchildren, Sebastien and Jacques Sauty de Chalon and Stevie Brooks; and siblings, Bill Hutchinson (Nancy) and Kathy Vincent.

Her visitation is 2:00-7:00pm Monday, May 12 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, Kentucky with private burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
