Matthew Sherrill Klusmeier, 88, died Thursday morning, December 22, 2022 at his home.

Matthew was a retired president of CNN Packaging Company, a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, a founding member of The Saint Gabriel Chapter of Saint Vincent DePaul and a veteran of the US Navy. He was a graduate of Manual High School and the University of Louisville.

Matthew was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Weber; his parents, Mary Coleman Klusmeier Burns and Edward Klusmeier;  and his brothers, Eddie Klusmeier and Gene Klusmeier and his beloved dog Sammie.  He is survived by his children, Joan Harvey (George - deceased), Karen Ashby (Roland), Patricia Klusmeier Wells (Paul) and Jeffrey Klusmeier; grandchildren Bryce Ashby, Taylor Ashby, Paul Wells (Jes), Jonah Klusmeier (Chloe), Sarah Wells and Jacob Wells;  great grandchildren; Axel Klusmeier, Lilah, Klusmeier and Zoe Krystofiak, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Matthew's family would like to thank the staff of Village Crossing Retirement Community and Lighter Hearts Home Care for providing Mathew with a wonderful life during his years living there. Special thanks to Hosparus and Lighter Hearts Home Care for their kindness and exemplary end of life care.

Visitation will be at 9am Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with funeral service at noon. Burial in Calvary Cemetery will follow.
