Obituary

Dr. George Edward "Mason" Porta, 28 of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, loving son, brother, uncle, and grandson, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2025.  Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of Michael Porta and Kimberly Bagley.

Having earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Kentucky, he most recently worked at CVS Pharmacy in Lancaster. He had also been offered and accepted a position as a clinical pharmacist at Penn Med Rehabilitation Hospital, where he was hoping to pursue research.

Mason was a prolific musician/songwriter and loved camping and hiking. A tremendous humanitarian, he spent time as a youth, volunteering with Hand in Hand Ministries in communities to repair and build housing. As a student at UK, he was heavily involved in Big Blue Kitchen, a program to help provide for students with food needs.

In addition to his mother and father, Mason is survived by siblings, Ahren Porta, Nick Porta, Levi Porta, and Gracie Evans; as well as grandparents, Larry and Rita Dennison, and Mary Ann Porta. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Jim Porta.

Memorial service is 4pm Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.  Visitation is after 12pm until the time of the service.
