Mary Helen Young Curry, 85, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025.

She was a native of Jasper, AR, the daughter of Guy and Helen Young.

She graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College to pursue a teaching career.  She met her husband Richard in college and they shared 59 wonderful years together.

Later, she was a devoted mother.  As her two sons got older, she worked for Jefferson County Public Schools in various capacities until her retirement.

She was a long time member of Highview Baptist Church and led a women's bible study for over 30 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Curry.

She is survived by sons, David Curry (Traci) and Stephen Curry (Lori); grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jones (Blake), Jacob, Rachel, Ryan, and Luke Curry; great grandchild, Emma Jones; brothers, Guy Young Jr. and Bill Young; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral is 2 pm Friday, December 5, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial in Jasper, AR on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Visitation is after 12 pm Friday until the time of service.
