Margaret Marie Black, 76, died Monday, July 20, 2026.
She was born March 12, 1950 in Brookville, Indiana, daughter of Alfred and Mary Morgan Ponder.
Margaret retired from General Electric after 38 years of service. She enjoyed playing golf, fishing, bowling and dancing. She was an active member of the following: Fraternal Order of Eagles, Supreme Council Order of the Amaranth, Inc., Order of the Eastern Star, IUE-CWA Local Union 761, the Kentucky Colonels and Women of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Earl Black; and siblings, Sara Ellen Ponder, Wanda Ponder, Franklin Ponder, Pauline Durham, Thelma Shirey, Jimmy Ponder, Paul Ponder, and Frances Davis.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Dietsch (Stephen); grandson, Zachary Allgeier (Jessie); great grandchildren, Angie Williams, Hunter Dawley, Zek Allgeier and Lettie Allgeier; siblings, Bonnie Smither, Robert Ponder, and Edward Ponder; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of in-laws and friends.
Visitation is 1-7pm Monday, July 27, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky.
Another visitation is after 12pm Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Road, Liberty, Kentucky followed by a funeral service at 2pm and burial in Willow Spring Cemetery, Liberty, Kentucky.
