Lorraine Wacker, 77, died October 25, 2024.
She was born Myrtle (Lorraine) Wacker on May 26, 1947 in Jackson, AL, daughter of Rudolph and Mary Lee Thompson Marks. Lorraine was a devoted homemaker. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church for 25 years, Calvary Christian Center for 20 years and a Southeast Christian Church-Bullitt County member for 3 years.
She is survived by her husband , Ronald J. Wacker; children, Karen Cox (Henry), Lisa Revard (Ray), Michelle King (Anthony), Andrea Williams, Lauren Hall (Brandon Faulkenberg) and Jonathan Wacker (Ashley); grandchildren, Stephanie Dowell, Joshua Beavers, Casey Vaught, Alexis Bell, Michael Payne, Austin King, Emily Denton, Samuel King, Dakota Williams, Kailen Williams, Tristan Williams, Bailey Helmel, Jaselynn Hall, Wyatt Drury, Natalee Wacker, Jacob Wacker, and Luke Wacker; and great grandchildren, Taylor Dowell, Cameron Beavers, Skye Grawemeyer, Remmie Vaught, Issac Payne, Elijah Payne, Madilyn Denton and Baby Denton. Her precious Alabama siblings Nettie Lee (Sister) McLendon, Warren Marks, Roy Marks, Fred Marks, Alfred Marks and Ethel Blackwell. Along with many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Lorraine was a devoted wife of 49 years. She was a precious mother and grandmother to 24 grandchildren and an angel to all who knew her.
She spent her life being an example of Jesus Christ, teaching others of His love. Not only by her words and wisdom but by showing compassion and love for others. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her and wanted all to come to know Him in a saving way.
She was the glue that held her family together and took great pride in that role. She possessed a light that radiated from within and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her funeral is 1pm Monday, November 11, 2024 at Victory Baptist Church, 7808 Beulah Church Road, Louisville, KY 40228 with burial in Highland Memory Gardens, 279 Landis Lane, Mt. Washington, KY, 40047. Visitation is 12-6pm Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.
