Loretta A. Ham, 73, passed away suddenly Saturday May 31, 2025, at her home in Northfield.

She was the former Loretta Powers, a native of Louisville, 1969 graduate of Atherton High School and attended the University of Kentucky. She returned to college at the University of Louisville and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 2001.

Loretta had several jobs including waitressing, an estimator for Turner Construction and a civilian employee of the St. Matthews Police Department. The bulk of her working career was spent as a social services clinician at the Kentucky State Reformatory prior to her retirement.

She was active in and President of the Northfield Garden Club as well as the Northfield 7 O'clock Club and a friend of Bill W for 34 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Martha Powers, brother John Powers and stepdaughter Jessica. Survivors include her husband of 29 years Richard Ham, sister Elizabeth Powers Sussman and 3 stepdaughters Katrina, Mariah and Tia.

Cremation was chosen with a Memorial Gathering on Thursday June 12th from 3 – 7 PM at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.
