Linda R. Rice, 73, died Monday, May 11, 2026 in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was born June 16, 1952, daughter of Kenneth and Emma Jean Reaves.

Linda was a retired teacher at Moore High School and Jeffersontown High School.  She was a member of Southeast Christian Church.  Linda participated in several Bible study groups and regularly met with her teaching peers.  However, she most enjoyed time with her family and was a proud fan of her grandsons, attending every sporting event possible.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Thomas Kern; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Rice.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Darrell W. Rice; daughters, Melissa Burton (Jacob) and Natalie Kern; grandchildren, Gavin Burton, Blake Burton, Braylen Kern and Camden Kern; brother-in-law, Donnie Rice; and siblings, Barbara Minor and Larry Reaves.

Her funeral is 11am Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.  Visitation is 2-8pm Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
