On April 2, 2023  Linda Lee (Patton) Koontz peacefully passed  from this life at Nazareth Clifton Nursing Home.

Linda was born February 22, 1938 to Julia (Murta) & Andrew Patton.  She was a 1956 graduate of Loretto High School.   After High School she worked as a key punch operator for many years.

Linda met the love of her life and soon after married Lyle Dean Koontz on a Valentine's Day 1958.  They raised three boys, Michael Dean, Steven Lyle & David Lee Koontz.

At one stage of her life, Linda and her husband Lyle were the owners/operators of Linda's Market  in the West End.

After moving to Fern Creek, Linda joined the team at Fern Creek High School.   Ms. Linda, as they called her there, was a "Lunchroom Lady" from 1971 until she retired in 1997.

Even though she didn't drive at the time, Linda's husband had a couple nicknames for her.  One was Wanda Wheels because she was always on the go, go, go. Another nickname she was bestowed from hanging so much with her son, Michael and sister, Mary Ann was "The Three Peas".

That was Linda.  You could find her reaching into her pocket and pulling out her little black book.   Not an address book, her JOKE book , from which she proudly entertained any audience.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lyle.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Darrell), Steven (Kim) and David (Karen).  She is also survived by her loving sister, Mary Ann (Patton) Hoskins. Linda has 4 grandchildren Steven, Erin, Jessica & David.   She also has 7 great grandchildren, Steven, Kamden, Zoey, Scarlett, Liam, Ellie & Harper and one more great grandson that she was hoping to meet soon.

We would like to thank the staff at Nazareth Clifton Nursing Home for such good care that was given Linda during her stay.

Her funeral is 10am Friday, April 7, 2023 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.  Visitation is 2-7pm Thursday, April 6, 2023.
