Lataine Puckett Basham, 90, passed peacefully from this life to be with her Heavenly Father on February 18, 2026.
Lataine, also known as "Tanie", was born on July 15, 1935, in Munfordville, Kentucky to the late George Clayton and Opal (Bolton) Puckett. The eldest of the 4 Puckett sisters, they loved music and sang together their entire lives. She married the love of her life, Kenneth E. Basham, in October of 1956 and they spent 67 beautiful years together before his passing in 2024.
Lataine was a long-time member of Atwood Wesleyan Church where she served as Organist and Adult Sunday School teacher as well as in the Children's and Women's ministries. She was a Senior Underwriter at Capital Holding Corporation.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lataine was preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce Roberson (Jack), Wanda Roberts, brothers-in-law Allen Smith and Jack Roberson, sons-in-law Joe Braisted and Jim Wilson, and granddaughter Jamie Wilson.
She is survived by her loving children Beverly Wilson, Debbie Berry (Dan), Dottie Franks (Jeff) and Kenny Basham (Susie); grandchildren Michael Braisted (Amanda), Joshua Braisted, Tim Braisted, Kathy Stephens (Chris), David Basham (Renee), Kristina Caudill (Scott) and Kyle Basham (Sierra); 15 great-grandchildren; sister Irene Smith and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Lataine now rests in eternal peace, reunited in Heaven with those she loved, held forever in God's loving arms.
Visitation is 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY and after 10 am Saturday, February 28, 2026 until the time of the service. The funeral service is at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Fern Creek Funeral Home with burial at noon in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, KY
