Kathy
Reynolds
February 23, 2024
Kathy Reynolds (née Marcum) departed from this life on February 23, 2024, in the city of her birth, Louisville, Kentucky. With the same gusto that the Cardinals bring to the field, Kathy played the game of life with an infectious cheer and a Coca-Cola in hand, never missing a beat or a tailgate party. Her playbook was filled with strategies not for scoring touchdowns, but for winning hearts and lifting spirits.
A graduate of the University of Louisville, Kathy's allegiance to her alma mater was paralleled by her loyalty to her family and her calling as a social worker. Her tenure with the Cabinet of Health and Family Services spanned three fulfilling decades, during which she provided solace and support to many.
Blessed with the joy of a loving marriage, Kathy leaves behind her husband Rick Reynolds, her cherished children, Whitney and Ryan, and her longtime friend Barbara Kaminer. Precious in memory are her mother Mary Marcum, her brother Bill Marcum, and aunt Betty Kountz who preceded her in this journey.
The Reynolds family invites those who knew Kathy to gather on Saturday, March 2nd at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Rd, Louisville KY 40291. Visitation will begin at 1 pm with a time of remembrance, where family and friends are invited to share stories celebrating Kathy's life, starting at 2:30 pm. In reflection of Kathy's adoration for animals and her kind-hearted nature, contributions can be made to the Kentucky Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
The responsibility of Kathy's final arrangements has been entrusted to Cremation Society of Louisville, KY.
Kathy Reynolds will be remembered for her generous spirit, infectious enthusiasm, and the love that she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to resonate within the community she loved and the many lives she touched.
