Katherine Hatfield, 96, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 after a long illness.

She retired as dairy department manager after 33 years of service to Kroger Company and was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, David and Edith Updyke Barnett; children, Stephen Kennedy, Christopher Kennedy and Teresa Kennedy; step-daughter, Leslie Murphy; sister, Ann Stevens; and brother, Bud Barnett.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, James R. Hatfield; son, Phillip Kennedy (Jacquline); step children, Doug and Jimmy Hatfield and Debbie Hampton; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Helen Cunningham (Barney); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral is 1pm Friday, May 9, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY with burial in Mt. Washington (KY) Cemetery. Visitation is 12-6pm Thursday, May 8, 2025.
