June Catherine Murphy, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

She was born April 10, 1937, daughter of Clarence and Myrtle Daily Dawson.

June was a loving and deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a  graduate of Presentation High School, a wonderful homemaker and member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.  Her life is described by her children as "simply beautiful". In her own words in the final days of her journey: "I did the best I could".

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bob Murphy; and brother, Bud Dawson.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Murphy (Roger Williams), Mark Murphy (Laura), Karen Redmond (Robin) and Glen Murphy (Stephanie); grandchildren, Wes (Shenelle), McKenzie (Clay), Ryan, Mallory, Kyle, Liam, Landon, Emmy, Keelan, Dylan, and  Brooke; great grandchildren, Alyvia, Azaria and Zayla; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Dawson; and special friends, Margaret Hornback and Judy Coury.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care provided by Sunrise of Louisville staff in the final stages of her life.

Funeral service is Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 10am at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Road with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8pm Tuesday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.
