Judith "Judi" Ann Vessels Costelle, 82, of Louisville found peace at her home on Monday, May 2, 2022, after a long illness.

Judi was a graduate of Loretto High School, class of 1957, and a member of St. Gabriel Church. She was a gifted seamstress and was once a fixture at local craft shows—including the annual shows at St. Gabriel and St. James—where she displayed her quilted creations.

She loved her garden, The Lord of the Rings , and Oreo cookies. We will miss her beautiful smile, warm laugh, and interesting facial expressions.

Judi is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert "Bob" Costelle. She is also survived by her brother, Mike Vessels (Carolyn); sister, Joan Payton (Scott); and sister-in-law, Rhonda Vessels (Steve, dec.); her children, Andrew Costelle (Donna), Todd Costelle (Monica), Beth Cox (Mark), and Robin Costelle (Connie); her grandchildren, Caleb Costelle (Shelby), Autumn Costelle (Andrew), Hannah Costelle, and Candace Cox; and her dear friend of many years, Mary Erbe (Leigh). The family would like to thank Bonnie Justice for her steadfast patience and loving care.

Funeral mass is 10:30am Friday, May 6, 2022 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 5505 Bardstown Road with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 1-7pm Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.
