Joseph Mark Jessel, 63, died peacefully Friday, March, 17, 2023. He was born November 19, 1959 in Cleveland, OH, son of the late Edward J. Jessel and the late Ann Janov Jessel.  After leaving the cold north in 1967, he remained a proud resident of Louisville, Kentucky the rest of his life. He graduated from Fern Creek High School, 1978.

He suffered an accidental traumatic spinal injury at twenty seven (1986) leaving him a quadraplegic.  However, he did not let it slow him down. He completed his undergraduate degree from Bellarmine University in Political Science and completed studies toward a Juris Doctorate, from University of Louisville, School of Law.

He is survived by his son, Matthew Jessel; and his grandchildren, Kia Jessel and Grace Jessel;  his siblings, Anne Marie Channel (Don), Catherine Jessel-Huelsman (Alan), Edward J. Jessel III ( Sally), David A. Jessel (Sara), and John R. Jessel (Barbara); his nieces and nephews, Casey Jo Hunt, Erin Jeffers, Stephen Huelsman, and Sara Huelsman and many cousins in Cleveland and Colorado.
