Obituary

Johnny M. Franklin, 74, died Friday, November 15, 2024.

He was retired from General Electric where he worked for 37 years and served as a volunteer firefighter for Fern Creek Fire Department for 20 years.  Johnny enjoyed coaching Babe Ruth Baseball at Fern Creek Park for 20 years and still remains "Coach" to many young men.  One of his favorite things was traveling in his motor home.  He and his wife visited 49 states as volunteer Care a Vanners for Habitat for Humanity.

Johnny was a kind generous and giving person and will be missed by all who knew him.

Preceding him in death were his parents, MacDonald Franklin and Thelma Taylor; grandson, Eric Franklin; and brothers, Donald and Dennis Franklin.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Burton Franklin; children, Sharon Kramer (Dale), Robert Franklin (Marsha) and Jeffrey Franklin; grandchildren, Brandon Franklin, Andrew Franklin, Katie Fussenegger, Lucas Kramer, Rebecca Franklin, Adam Franklin and Aspen Franklin; and great grandchildren, Sophie Fussenegger, Dominic Fussenegger, Theo Franklin, Trumie Franklin, and Slade Franklin.

Memorial service is 2pm Saturday, Nov 23, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.  Visitation is after 1pm until the time of the service.
