John Dennis McVey, 79, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at his home.

He was born November 22, 1943 in Bath County, KY, son of Charles W. and Thelma Welch McVey.

John was the owner/operator of John McVey Plumbing and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.  He enjoyed golfing, watching sports (especially the KY Wildcats and Cincinnati Reds), and mowing grass.

John was a loving and kind husband, Dad and "Poppy".  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia "Pat" Eichler McVey; children, B.J. McVey (Nicole) and Missy McVey; special best friend and granddaughter, Abbie McVey; and sisters, Linda Lewis (Glenn) and Mary Carolyn Ring (Jimmy).

Visitation is 2-7pm Monday, April 17, 2023 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with private burial.
