John Richard Doloway, 89, died Sunday, March 17, 2024.

He was retired sergeant 1st class, U.S. Army and a Vietnam War Veteran.  John was a 3/5 Armored Calvary Black Knight, a Purple Heart recipient and a lifetime member of American Legion #201 and VFW #10281.  He was a member of Highview Baptist Church and the American Red Cross.

John was preceded in death by his first wife, Inge Doloway; and son, Tom Doloway (Lisa).

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Strange; sons, Tony (Colleen) and John (Lisa) Doloway; step children, Debbie Yerian (Paul) and Barney Strange (Pam); grandchildren, Justin and Austin Doloway; step-grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Angela and Rachel; and sister, Harriett Doloway.

His funeral is 12pm Friday, March 22, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial following in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after 10am Friday until the time of the service.
