John Howard
Cusick
May 25, 2025
John Howard Cusick, 63, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
John was a skilled remodeler and the proud owner of John Cusick Construction. A graduate of Jeffersontown High School, he was also a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Post 3903.
John had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for travel, especially with his beloved wife, Chrissy Badgett Cusick, by his side. Their journeys together were among his most cherished memories along with his yearly family trips to Destin Fl. He found joy in the simple things—working in the yard, caring for his home, and spending time with his adored dogs, Miles and Bella. He was a man known for his generous heart—a helper by nature who would give you the shirt off his back or learn to sew just to make you one. No matter the challenge, John would always find a way to take care of those he loved. Above all, family meant everything to John. Becoming a "Poppy" brought him immense joy, and though his time in that role was far too short, he embraced it fully and with love.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Cusick. He is survived by his devoted wife, Chrissy; his son, Tristan Cusick (Megan); stepchildren, Taylor Miller (JoJo) and Jacob Duvall; cherished grandson, Colt Miller; his mother, Edna Wells (Charles); siblings, Suzy Mohr (Robert), Kathy Lewis, and Bill Cusick (Lori); stepsiblings, Chris Wells (Linda) and Valerie Butterworth (Taz); mother-in-law, Roma Badgett; brother-in-law, Robert E. Badgett (Leah); and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road. Visitation will follow the service and continue until 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Kentucky Humane Society in John's memory—honoring his lifelong love for animals.
