Obituary

Jody Mac Vance, 77, died Thursday, December 19, 2024.

Jody was a retired TARC driver, a member of the old Calvary Church of the Nazarene and a life member of Jeffersontown Masonic Lodge #774.

He was a very hardworking family man who always thought about others before himself.  Family was his world.  Very outspoken, he was known to say "That's B.S.  You better listen to what I'm telling you". Followed by "Oh well, it is what it is", while rolling his eyes.

Jody enjoyed music, especially Elvis, dancing and following UofL athletics. He had a love/hate relationship with the lottery and slot machines- he loved it when he won and swore he was quitting when he lost.

He was the loving, care-giving and devoted husband of Mary "Gail" Hill who he married on February 16, 1968 and she survives him.  Other survivors include daughters who he loved and spoiled until he took his last breath, Dana Raley (Tom) and Deana Vance; grandchildren who could do no wrong in his eyes, Brittney Colyer and Jeffery Jimmerson, Jr. (Kishi); great grandchildren, Riley, Kadyn, Colton, Jayden, Hunter, Mason and Bradley, all of whom made him smile; sister, Carol Aubrey (Jerry); brother-in-law, Billy Hill; sister-in-law, Janie Mosely (Big Wayne); many nieces and nephews, he loved and was proud of; his TARC family; neighbors; and many others he loved.

Masonic Service is 1pm Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road followed by a funeral service officiated by Tom Dillard.  Visitation is 10am-7pm Friday, December 27, 2024 and after 11am Saturday until the time of the service.
