Joanne ‘Jo-Jo’ Elizabeth Burkhardt age 57, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 19, 1968 in Louisville, Kentucky to Judy Hettich Burkhardt and the late Jim Burkhardt Sr.

Jo-Jo is survived by her mom Judy Burkhardt, brothers Jim Burkhardt (Ellen), John Burkhardt (Teresa), sister Janie Sharber (Steve), nieces Lauren Higgins (Michael), Christina Tinnell (Jared), Sarah Burkhardt and Molly Sharber. Nephews AJ Burkhardt, Evan Burkhardt and Patrick Wheat-Lindsey and five great nieces and nephews. Joanne was also preceded in death by her niece Macy Sharber and nephew Charlie Sharber.

Jo-Jo was deeply cherished by her family and all who knew her. Her beautiful spirit will continue to shine through the lives she touched.

Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff and caregivers at Delmaria Group Home where Joanne resided for many years. Their kindness, compassion, and unwavering commitment enriched Jo-Jo’s life in countless ways. They cared for her with genuine love, treating her as family and ensured she felt safe, valued and cherished each day. We will forever be grateful for the exceptional care they provided our precious Jo-Jo throughout her adult life.

A private family service will be held to honor Joanne. The family asks that you celebrate Jo-Jo’s life by embracing the joy found in life’s little things and sharing that joy through acts of kindness for one another.
