Obituary

Jerry Andrew Weihe, 60, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Jerry was born October 11, 1964 in Biloxi, Mississippi, son of George and Joann Gering Weihe. Jerry dedicated his career to serving his country and retired as Colonel in the U.S. Air Force after 23 years. He received a Bronze Star among many other meritorious awards and medals. He was a graduate of Southern High School and earned a Bachelors degree from the University of Louisville and a Masters degree in International Relations from Troy State University. Beyond his career, Jerry loved his family and was a man of faith. He excelled in track and field and cross country running in high school and college. He also enjoyed basketball, football, traveling, reading, animals,  studying history and the Bible, and especially, spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Weihe.

He is survived by his wife, Beverley Weihe; brother, Joel Weihe (Patti); nieces, Courtney (Jacob) and Lauren (Ben); nephews, Joshua (Trish) and Caleb; and great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

His funeral is 12:30pm Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky followed by committal with military honors at 2:30pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N. Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, Kentucky. Visitation is 3-7pm Monday, June 23, 2025 at the funeral home.
