Jayne Marcum Schweizer, DMin, died Friday, March 14, 2025.

She was born April 5, 1941, daughter of Jay M. and Norma Irene Schneider Marcum.  Jayne graduated from Fern Creek High School in 1959, and earned graduate and post graduate degrees from University of Louisville, Spalding University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

She was an educator and part-time instructor in Music and Art History at several area universities.  She also taught middle school at St. Joseph School.  Her focus in later years was on evangelism/outreach and discipling new believers in Christ.  She had always felt this call and served in many lay church positions, rejoicing as God cleared the path for her to graduate from seminary and follow her call to vocational ministry.

Jayne enjoyed historic restoration and preservation, gardening, music, theatre, art, sewing and antiques collecting.  She was a former member of the Oratorio Chorus and MasterWorks Chorale.  She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church of St. Matthews.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Schweizer; and cousins.

Her funeral is 2pm Monday, March 24, 2025 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY  40291 with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park.  Visitation is after 12pm until the time of the service.
