Tom Rector, 96, died Monday, July 8, 2024.

He was born James Thomas Rector on November 26, 1927 in Island, KY, son of Oscar and Mary Blades Rector.  Tom was a real estate broker and owner of the Tom Rector Company.  He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Southeast Christian Church and for many years distributed the church newspaper, The Outlook.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene McKnight Rector; daughters, Sandra Cornelius and Glynneva "Jean" Rector; and sister, Euleen Rickard.

He is survived by his children, Laura Lucas (Brad), Tom Rector, Jr., and Terry Lee Thompson (Larry); grandchildren, Richie Cornelius, Chad Cornelius, Rodney Coulter, Amy Jones and Lindsey Luckett; six great grandchildren;  three great great grandchildren and another expected in November.

His funeral is 12pm Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road.  Visitation is after 10am Saturday until the time of the service.
