Jim Hunt, 88, died Saturday, May 2, 2026.

He was born James Henry Hunt on September 18, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky, son of Rufus Hunt and Verna Mae Shields Hunt.

Jim worked in construction. He loved family time, especially fishing with his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed watching baseball games and any University of Louisville sporting competition.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his children, Rachel, Marc and Gary Hunt; first wife, Boots Myers; and siblings, Yvonne and Jean.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sheila Blandford (Billy), Jamie Hunt, Tony Hunt (Kathy), Donna Riley (George) and Melissa Baker; wife, Margaret Hunt; siblings, Frank, Eddie and Doris; 22 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Rough River, Kentucky.
